With a campaign video that checked off just about every Republican talking point you can think of, Todd Young announced today that he's running for U.S. Senate.
Congressman Marlin Stutzman is in the race, and he's further to the right than Young is. Eric Holcomb, a former Mitch Daniels campaign manager and State GOP Chair, was the first to jump in, and he's more of a centrist.
Young is somewhere to the left of Stutzman and to the right of Holcomb. With over $1 million in his campaign account, he likely should be considered the frontrunner out of the box on the Republican side.
A nasty three-way primary is good news for Mr. Baron Hill, the only Democrat in the race so far. Hill, who lost his Congressional seat to Young in 2010, would be itching for a rematch.
