Any Port In a Storm for GOP

Not sure where this Todd Akin picture came from,
but it says it all.
The Republican Party is doubling down on Representative Todd Akin despite his controversial comments about rape a few weeks ago.

As you might know, the Republican Senatorial Campaign Committee as well as a number of other leading Republicans are now rallying behind the embattled candidate after he failed to leave the race like he was asked to by leaders of both parties including GOP Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney.

Now, Akin is embarrassing the Republicans all over again.  Earlier today, Akin told reporters that his opponent, Senator Claire McCaskill was "more ladylike" in her 2006 campaign.  It's a chauvinist and sexist comment by the gaffe magnet.

Already, as the Huffington Post reports, Senator Patty Murray, a Democrat from Washington, is calling for the RSCC to withdraw its support from the race over the latest controversial comments by Akin.

I guess that Republicans will support anyone that says anything as long as they are Republicans.  Sure, we have our idiots on this side of the aisle, too, but Akin should know better.  I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that this guy's not fit to be a U.S. Senator and should have stayed over in the House.  It's a lot easier to be a sexist jerk over there where you're more anonymous.
