U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett Tough on Guns

U.S. Attorney Joe Hogsett announced today that his office had prosecuted 47 people on gun crimes this year within his district. That's 10 more than the entire year of 2010. He's not stopping there.

The former Indiana Secretary of State said he would continue to aggressively target felons who possess guns, possess guns while selling drugs, and sell guns to felons, according to the Indianapolis Star.

It's yet another bold move by one of Indiana's chief crime fighters. Hogsett has been tremendous so far on the guns issue previously announcing that he would be working with Marion County elected officials to try to clear the streets of those that have guns illegally.

Hats off to Attorney Hogsett who is doing a tremendous job in service to the community.

That's a "bold" move?

Shouldn't these types of crimes be prosecuted by the county prosecutor, and not the US attorney?

Maybe Joe should crackdown on white collar crime in Indy! I mean Joe c'mon the whole ACS-FSSA deal stinks to high heaven!

A categorical ban on felons in possession of guns is a violation of human rights and the Second Amendment.

The object must be tied to some bad act in order, morally, for there to be a crime.

Mere possession crimes are terrifying.
