President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama are taking a stand against bullying in our schools and elsewhere.
This is a critical issue because we are losing young people at an alarming rate due to bullying. I salute the President and the First Lady for making this an issue of national importance. Here at the state level...well...our General Assembly is struggling with this one. An anti-bullying bill was defeated in the Senate after an intense effort by the far right. Here is a blog post by the wonderful Sheila Kennedy on that bill.
Back to the national level, here is a video from the White House talking about the issue in the White House's Conference on Bullying Prevention. It's worth a watch. I also follow it with President Obama's video and contribution to the "It Gets Better Project".
