Obama Should Visit Tennessee

President Obama,
If you read this message, please make sure you get yourself to Tennessee soon. These people need their President. It's your job as Commander-in-Chief to not only shepherd through the disaster money they need, but it's also your job to hold the hand of these people, hug them, and be there for them. So far, you have failed in this job.

I know that you have been busy, and I know that you have been in contact with the Governor of Tennessee and the other folks in the municipalities effected. Staying in touch and being on the ground are two different things. These people need you.

You may not win votes in the Volunteer State, and they may not even like you. I think they need you there, though. Please consider going.

A Loyal Friend,
Jon Easter
In the meantime, the folks of Tennessee need our help. Donate to the relief effort. Please watch this citizen journalist's effort to get out the word about her neighborhood in East Nashville, Tennessee. Hat tip to A Loyal Opposition's Spencer Valentine for posting this video on his Facebook page.

Thanks for your to-the-point letter to President Obama, about the plight of the flooded Tennessee, Jon. I so agree with your request to him.

Weird you write this now. I was thinking the same thing this morning.

Obama is also MIA on the gulf disaster.

Even George Bush showed up the day after Katrina. Obama didn't show up to the oil spill until the 8th day. I don't think he went to TN at all.
