In My Inbox: Cinco De Mayo Membership Drive for Latino Dem PAC

This was in my inbox from Pat Rios:

CELEBRATE CINCO DE MAYO AND JOIN THE LATINO DEMOCRATIC PAC ON MAY 5TH FROM 5:30-7:30 P.M. AT Indianapolis Professional Firefighters Union Hall, 748 Massachusetts Avenue ...JOIN US FOR FOOD, MUSIC AND SUPPORT THIS IMPORTANT CAUSE.

Cinco de Mayo is a date of great importance for the Mexican community. It marks the victory of the Mexican Army over the French at the Battle of Puebla. Althought the Mexican army was eventually defeated, the "Batalla de Puebla" came to represent a symbol of Mexican unity and patriotism. With this victory, Mexico demonstrated to the world that Mexico and all of Latin America were willing to defend themselves of any foreign intervention. Especially those from imperialist states bent on world conquest.

The suggested donation is $50. Happy Cinco De Mayo!
