Here's Lookin' At You Stoots!

On the way home tonight, I was listening to the radio, and a Marlin Stutzman for Senate ad came on the air.

The voice of the endorser was Mike Huckabee. Huckabee repeatedly referred to Stutzman as "Marlin Stoots-man." I thought it was kind of interesting because I had always thought he pronounced his name as "Stuts-man." At the end of the ad, Stutzman himself actually repeated the Huckabee pronunciation of the name.

Now, minutes later, while watching WTHR's 5:30 newscast, I saw a television ad for Stutzman. Guess what? The announcer and Stutzman himself pronounced his last name "Stuts-man."

So, I guess Marlin Stutzman will change the pronunciation of his name for the endorsement of Mike Huckabee. Huckabee touted Stutzman's anti-choice and anti-gay views as the reasons for his support of "Stoots-man" for U.S. Senate.

Maybe Stutzman needs to get the pronunciation of his own name down first before he's ready to serve in the Senate.

Some candidates will say anything to get elected - even mispronouncing their own name!
