Councillor Mansfield Files Ethics Complaint Against Plowman

Both the Indianapolis Times blog and iPOPA are reporting that Councillor Angela Mansfield of District 2 has filed an ethics complaint against fellow City-County Councillor Lincoln Plowman of District 25.

I also was sent a copy of the filing, and the Councillor makes some pretty interesting points. She argues that the mysterious nature of the investigation targeting Councillor Plowman could call some or all of his votes on the City-County Council into question.

Read the full complaint on iPOPA here or on Indianapolis Times here.

Conservative blogger/radio host Abdul Hakim-Shabazz speculates that Plowman may resign his council seat on Monday. Of course, we all know how Abdul's rumors pan out sometimes.

On at least one of the network 11:00p news shows on Friday, someone announced that Plowman had resigned his council seats. I certainly shouldn't be surprised that a mistake was made, but it might have just been due to wishful thinking on the part of that investigator.
