The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has released an ad targeting former Senator Dan Coats, who is gathering signatures for a run against Indiana Senator Evan Bayh. Here is the ad:
Fairly powerful stuff here. Coats likely didn't plan on instant backlash when he joined in the fight. This sounds like a former Senator that likely never thought he'd run for office again. Either he saw the recent polls that Bayh was vulnerable and saw opportunity or someone was a little concerned that the current field needed to be warmed up...so they went for Senator Coats. Then again, I could be wrong. The Dems are clearly targeting Coats though...even if he still isn't in the race.
