Howard Dean is Right! Defeat the Senate Health Care Bill!

Dr. Howard Dean made headlines last night by urging, on Countdown with Keith Olbermann, that the current gutted and compromised health care reform bill be defeated in the Senate. Unfortnately, members of his own party took the opportunity to attack him rather than to listen to his message. Here's the story from KO.

Howard Dean is right. This bill sucks. It's awful, and it needs to be defeated. This isn't the bill passed out of the House. This isn't the bill anyone but the insurance companies want. It's not real reform, and it is absolutely ridiculous that it's being presented as such. Harry Reid should be run home to Nevada for this bait and switch he has pulled on his own party. I sure hope Harry enjoys his time back in the minority soon. And, for the PRESIDENT to attack Governor Dean for advocating for health reform when it is the President that's ready to make the American people accept this wishy washy mishmash of mess they call the Senate bill, is preposterous. Bravo Howard Dean...the conscience of the Liberal Wing of the Democratic Party!

I agree with you and Howard Dean. Let's kill this hoax of a healthcare bill. It will do more harm than good. We can thank Joe Lieberman, Evan Bayh and Blanche Lincoln for their stabbing the Democrats in the back on healthcare. The scary thing is that Evan Bayh will probably vote to kill it which is what I want but he will vote NO for all the wrong reasons. I dont believe he ever intended to vote for any Healthcare bill. It is a matter of math. Evan makes $200,000 a year as senator and his wife makes $2,000,000 a year from healthcare related companies. You tell me whose interest Evan Bayh will be voting for when he casts his vote. We are going to lose lots of Dems at all levels of the ticket in 2010 due to that ilk of Senator. My fear now is that we will lose the Marion County offices and maybe some congressional seats in Indiana. Thank you, Senator Bayh for being a traitor to the people who put you in office.

Without the public option, health care reform is useless. There is nothing stopping insurance companies from increasing premiums.

And I tell you what, if health care reform is passed and those costs do go up, the conservative media will go on an endless attack of Obama and he will lose all credibility in the centre American vote base.

From there, he can say goodbye to the Senate and House

I don't get this bill. No one wins except the insurance companies. The consumer doesn't win. The government doesn't win. The right wing continues to hate it. The left wing hates it. It's an awful bill.

Unfortunately, Harry Reid and others on the Senate side have spent too much time kissing the buttockses of Olympia Snowe, Joe Liebermann, Mary Landrieu, and Evan Bayh instead of doing the people's work.

None of them will get a dime from me, and the President is on really thin ice on this issue with me. He has been a log on the mighty stream when he needed to be the dam to stop the tide.

I don't, for the life of me, understand why the left is afraid to govern from there. The right certainly wasn't afraid to govern from there.

I'm very glad to see that some liberals are starting to realise that Barack Obama is a horrible president, in the pockets of big money and too moderate to stick his neck on the line; they are attacking him from the left.

The opponents of health care reform are:

Bourgeoisie: the rich executives from the insurance companies.
They make billions of dollars of profits from the status quo, so they fight tooth and nail to prevent reform helping consumers and hurting their profits.

Petty-bourgeoisie: small business owners, lower executives, white collar workers, managers are such.
These people make enough money that they can afford the high premiums. Money creates power which creates freedom - these people are the ones who worry their 'freedom' will be taken away.

Dumb working class: workers are naturally leftwing; but, thanks to America's crappy education system, they are too dumb to tell the difference between real journalism and garbage.
Glenn Beck says Obama is a Marxist. A normal person with critical faculties can realise that comment is garbage; but a dumb worker cannot. These people unfortunatley, believe what Beck and Savage and Limbaugh say.
So when Fox News says health care reform will kill people, they don't have the skills to decipher the comment to realise it's garbage and lies.
