After I contacted Jose Evans and made him aware of the poster "Arnie" and his comment that Evans plans to run for Mayor with his own slate of candidates to go around the Democratic Party slating process, Evans responded by e-mail to my offer to respond to Arnie's claims.
He wrote, "Everything is going according to my plan. They know I'm here!"
Stay tuned!

This answer is a no answer. I am considering supporting Jose but if he chooses to bypay party slating which reflects the choices of the party workers who help elect the slated candidates, then he will no longer be on my list of people to support. His answer leads me to believe that he is not going to slating...too bad.
Jose has confirmed my comment.
And I am sure "woody" will not respond.
He has yet to respond. I sent a Facebook message to both him and his son. If and when he does respond, I will post his answer.
Slating should be done away with in any case. The people should decide who gets to carry the party banner into the general election. Slating gives all the power to the County Chairman due to his/her ability to make last minute appointments to fill PC and VPC slots with people who will never actually serve beyond voting the way they are told at slating.
That said, the Mayor and Council are elected in 2011, so that slating convention is still over a year and a half away. So, time will tell.
